Disney is releasing several films in cinemas and on the Disney+ streaming service. These films vary from family-friendly sequels to adaptations of legendary animation masterpieces in live-action. This week, the firm modified its release calendar for forthcoming films from its studios. Scroll down to view next year's forthcoming releases.
Next year, Disney will release a live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid. The film tells the narrative of Ariel, a mermaid princess who makes a pact with a sea witch to become human so she may experience life on land and fall in love with a man—Halle Bailey (Grown-ish, The Color Purple) stars. Jonah Hauer-King plays Prince Eric, while Melissa McCarthy of Bridesmaids and No Country for Old Men play Ursula. Javier Bardem as King Triton, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, and Crazy Rich Asians breakthrough Awkwafina as Scuttle. The next live-action adaptation of Aladdin will be based on the iconic cartoon film. It is directed by Guy Ritchie and stars Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott as Aladdin and Jasmine, respectively. In this informal rendition of Arabian Nights, Aladdin meets Princess Jasmine and discovers a magic lamp (Naomi Scott). It is only until she mistakenly releases a larger-than-life genie that he realizes his value. The film has fantastic music composed by Alan Menken, winner of eight Academy Awards, as well as fresh recordings of the songs. It also features other DVD extras, such as a virtual magic carpet ride and a delightful interactive 3D tour inside the lamp of the Genie. The Lion King, Disney's 32nd animated picture, immerses viewers in the vast African wilderness. It relates to the tale of Simba, a small cub destined to become the jungle king. The film is among the highest-grossing animated films ever. It has a cast of realistic animal creatures and incorporates music by Elton John and Hans Zimmer. The Lion King contains the voices of Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, James Earl Jones, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. Jon Favreau directs the film. Finding Dory is the sequel to the 2014 success Finding Nemo. It reunites the forgetful blue tang Dory (voiced by Ellen DeGeneres) with her companions Nemo and Marlin as they hunt for her family. The film is directed by Andrew Stanton, who also directed and co-wrote the original. The film also has a score composed by Thomas Newman, whose credits include Skyfall, The Help, and WALL-E. This fish-out-of-water tale is full of emotional weight and interesting characters, despite not attempting to rival Finding Nemo in intelligence. That is an overwhelming victory for Disney Pixar. In Disney's most recent swashbuckling adventure, the unfortunate Captain Jack feels powerful gusts of misfortune blowing his way. He must now search for the mythical Trident of Poseidon while navigating a dangerous sea with the assistance of a clever and gorgeous astronomer and a determined young British naval officer. Johnny Depp reprises his role as the scoundrel antihero Jack Sparrow. He joins the likes of Javier Bardem's villainous Captain Salazar and Geoffrey Rush's Captain Barbossa. The first trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX, the ninth and final film in the Skywalker saga, has been published by Disney. The film chronicles the struggle of the Resistance against the villainous First Order, commanded by Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), and the Galactic Empire. Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels, Domhnall Gleeson, Billy Dee Williams, and newcomer Naomi Ackie appear in the film. The director is J.J. Abrams, who also authored the screenplay. The Haunted Mansion is one of Disney's most well-known attractions. It has existed for almost fifty years and is regarded as a masterpiece. LaKeith Stanfield, Rosario Dawson, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Jared Leto, and Jamie Lee Curtis are among the actors cast in the 2023 film adaptation of the attraction, which is slated for release. Gabbie (Dawson) is the protagonist, a single mother who moves into a New Orleans home and finds its lengthy history of hauntings. To exorcise her house, she enlists the aid of tour guides, a priest, and a historian.
